Crackley Hall School welcomed British gymnast Mr Robert Payne who came to lead a number of fun fitness sessions for pupils from reception to Year 6. The Olympic hopeful talked to children about his training methods, achievements and competitions. Pupils were given the opportunity to ask him questions about his life as a top British gymnast. A number of sporting challenges were overseen by Mr Payne, with each of the children gaining sponsorship for their participation. Money raised will go towards the Sports for Schools organisation who are raising funds to sponsor British athletes for the 2012 Olympics.
Director of sport at Crackley Hall Mrs Sally Marshall commented,
‘It was such a pleasure for our pupils to meet Robert. They were very interested to hear about his commitments and National achievements. Gym club is always a popular extra curricular activity at Crackley so it was terrific for our young athletes to meet an inspiring Olympic hopeful.’
