News - 25/11/2009 - Crackley Hall Pupil Attends Premiere with National Film Stars

It seems that Christmas has literally arrived early for ten year old Crackley Hall pupil Aiofe McLeod. The multi talented dancer and singer attended the Premier of the Coventry based film Nativity at the Odeon cinema last night. Billed to be a Christmas Cracker and starring The Office’s Martin Freeman this seasonal gem tells the story of two rival schools’ bid to out-do one another with their nativity plays.

Budding actress Aoife auditioned for the film in the summer of 2008 and rehearsals began soon after. She played the part of an Oakmore School girl and was heavily involved in the singing and dancing routines.

‘It was great fun. I especially liked the actor Jason Watkins who played our teacher Mr Shakespeare in the film. He made us laugh all the time. There was a lot of waiting around on set and sometimes it was quite difficult when the director kept making us repeat  scenes but when I saw the final version of the film last night I just thought – wow!’

Aoife, who has ambitions for a future in Musical Theatre, is looking forward to hearing what her fellow Crackley Hall classmates will think of the film. Head Teacher Mr Paul Ryan added,

‘Aoife is a very talented individual who comes from a strong dance and theatre background. It is wonderful that she has been given this opportunity to work with nationally recognised film stars. We look forward to seeing her perform in our own Crackley Hall Christmas musical celebration to be held later this term’.
